Born and raised in Memphis, TN, he is a graduate of Overton High School and the University of Memphis on a music scholarship (B.S.Ed) and Union University (M. Ed and Ed.S) in Germantown, TN. He has always found himself on a stage throughout his life, from Theatre Memphis to leading Vacation Bible School worship rallies. He met his amazing wife, Christy while attending the University of Memphis. They married in 2002 and lived in China for 1 year before establishing teaching careers in Shelby County in 2003. They have three great kids; Matthew, Micah and Lydia.
Having always grown up attending church 3 times a week at Broadway and Kirby Woods, with parents who set a good example of what living a life set apart unto the Lord was, he was saved at 5 years old. The Bible says to have “faith like a child”. Well, at 5, that was pretty easy. He knew that he wanted to go to heaven and Jesus died to pay the price for that to happen. But as he grew and encountered all that life throws one’s way, his faith became more notable in his life. Now in his 40s, he still has that child-like faith and is still growing and trying to honor the Lord.
