“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.”
John 1:12
God
is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Genesis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22 / Psalm 90:2
Man
is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God, called sin. This attitude separates man from God.
Genesis 1:27 / Psalm 8:3-6 / Isaiah 53:6a / Romans 3:23
Eternity
lasts forever and man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.
John 3:16 / 1 John 2:25, 5:11-13 / Romans 6:23 / Revelation 20:15
Jesus
is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father - fully God and fully man. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Matthew 1:22-23 / Isaiah 9:6 / John 1:1-5 ,14:10-30 / Hebrews 4:14-15 / I Corinthians 15:3-4 / Romans 1:3-4
Salvation
is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Romans 6:23 / Ephesians 2:8-9 / John 14:6 & 1:12 / Titus 3:5 / Galatians 3:26
Eternal Security
is given by God through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.
John 10:29 / II Timothy 1:12 / Hebrews 7:25 & 10:10-14 / I Peter 1:3-5
Holy Spirit
is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.
II Corinthians 3:17 / John 16:7-13, 14:16-17 / Acts 1:8 / I Corinthians 2:12, 3:16 / Ephesians 1:13, 5:18 / Galatians 5:25
Bible
is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God to all men. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.
II Peter 1:20-21 / II Timothy 3:17, 1:13 / Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6 / Proverbs 30:5
Baptisim
is an act of obedience to the command of Christ and is by immersion after salvation.
Acts 8:36-38 / Acts 10:47-48
WE HAVE ALL SINNED.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
GOD IS HOLY AND MUST PUNISH SIN.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
GOD SENT HIS SON, JESUS, TO SAVE YOU.
“Christ died for our sins… He was buried…He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
WHAT MUST YOU DO TO HAVE ETERNAL LIFE?
It is tough to realize and admit that we are wrong. Even before God, we feel we are basically good, and we would like to think we are never as bad as some others. The truth is we are all sinners and can never be good enough to earn our way to heaven.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." – Romans 3:23
"For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all." – James 2:10
"As it is written: 'There is none righteous, no, not one;'" – Romans 3:10
Salvation is not complicated. All that is required is to recognized and believe that Jesus paid the price for you, and that He rose from the dead to give you eternal life.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” – Acts 16:31
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." – Ephesians 2:8-9
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."– John 3:16
God did his part, sending His one and only Son to die in our place. He has offered us a free gift — salvation, the forgiveness of sin, eternal life with Him in heaven. BUT… we must receive that gift. We must confess our sins (1 John 1:9) and confess (or proclaim) our faith (belief) in the death, burial and resurrection of God’s son, Jesus Christ.
"if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." – Romans 10:9-10
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek." – Romans 1:16
What does it mean to repent? It means to do a spiritual U-turn with the help of the Holy Spirit. You turn from sin, and you turn to God. It doesn’t mean you’ll never sin again, but it does mean you are tired of it and don’t want to sin.
“Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3
